ApeChain
The ApeCoin DAO-funded Layer-3 on Arbitrum Orbit — built around the BAYC universe with APE as native gas, focusing on gaming and NFT-centric apps.
ApeChain launched in October 2024 as an L3 settling to Arbitrum One via Arbitrum Orbit. APE — the ApeCoin governance token — is the native gas token. The chain anchors the broader BAYC ecosystem (Yuga Labs' NFT properties) and a roster of NFT-native applications.
ApeChain's launch coincided with ApeCoin staking re-architecture and a more aggressive treasury deployment by the ApeCoin DAO. It is one of the larger NFT-IP-driven L3 launches.
