Babylon

A protocol that lets BTC holders stake their bitcoin to provide trust-minimized security to PoS chains, with slashing enforced via Bitcoin's own scripting.

Babylon enables "Bitcoin staking": a holder locks BTC in a self-custody Bitcoin script and earns yield from PoS chains that opt into Babylon's security. Misbehavior is slashed via the locking script itself — no bridging or wrapping of BTC required.

The protocol is one of several attempts to bring Bitcoin's economic mass to bear on PoS security, without giving up Bitcoin's self-custody guarantees. Early integrations include Cosmos chains and several restaking-adjacent middleware protocols.
