Blue-Chip NFT
An informal label for NFT collections with sustained brand strength, deep liquidity, and a price history that has held through multiple cycles.
"Blue-chip" is a market label, not a protocol designation. It captures collections that have survived a full cycle of NFT prices collapsing and recovering, with name recognition that draws new collectors even in down markets.
The exact list is contested but typically includes CryptoPunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Pudgy Penguins, Azuki, Doodles, Milady, and a handful of generative-art projects like Fidenza and Chromie Squiggle. Floor prices on blue chips remain orders of magnitude above most NFTs even in deep bear markets.
