Coinbase's self-custodial mobile and browser wallet — distinct from the Coinbase exchange app, with smart-account support and deep Base L2 integration.
Coinbase Wallet is Coinbase's self-custody product, separate from the exchange account where assets are custodied. It supports Ethereum, every major L2 (especially Base), Bitcoin, and a growing set of other chains.
The Coinbase Smart Wallet adds ERC-4337 account abstraction with passkey signers — users create wallets via a familiar passkey flow with no seed phrase to manage. The product is one of the main on-ramps from the Coinbase exchange audience into on-chain DeFi.
