Diamond Hands
Crypto and stocks slang for holding an asset through extreme volatility without selling — opposite of "paper hands" — popularized during the 2021 r/WallStreetBets era.
"Diamond hands" — usually rendered as the 💎🙌 emoji combo — describes holding an asset through extreme volatility without selling, regardless of price swings or social pressure. The opposite is "paper hands" — selling at the first sign of turbulence.
The term entered the mainstream during the early 2021 r/Wall- StreetBets GameStop saga and crossed over into crypto culture in the same period. It frequently appears in HODL-adjacent contexts: bull-market hype, post-crash defiance, and as a badge worn by long-term holders.
