Embedded Wallet

A self-custodial crypto wallet an app provisions behind email or social login, giving users an on-chain account without ever installing an extension or handling a seed phrase.

An embedded wallet is a self-custodial wallet that an application creates for a user behind a familiar Web2 login — email, Google, Apple, or a passkey — instead of asking them to install a browser extension and back up a seed phrase. Providers such as Privy, Dynamic, Turnkey, and Web3Auth generate the key inside the app and guard it with threshold cryptography or secure enclaves, so no single party ever holds the full key.

Because the wallet lives inside the product, embedded wallets pair naturally with account abstraction and paymasters to deliver gas-less, one-click transactions. Users can usually export the underlying key to migrate to a standard wallet like MetaMask, preserving self-custody while stripping away the onboarding friction that keeps mainstream users out of crypto.
