ERC-4626
A token standard for yield-bearing vaults: every vault implements the same deposit / withdraw / convertToShares interface, so integrations compose cleanly.
Before ERC-4626, every yield vault on Ethereum exposed its own
slightly-different interface, which made integrations expensive and
error-prone. ERC-4626, finalized in 2022, standardizes the
fungible-tokenized-vault pattern: deposit, mint, withdraw,
redeem, plus accounting functions like convertToShares.
Wallets, aggregators, and other protocols can now treat any 4626 vault interchangeably. The standard has been adopted by Yearn v3, Morpho Blue, and most newer yield primitives.
