Generative Art
NFTs whose visual is produced by a deterministic on-chain script (typically run at mint), making each token a verifiable, unique output of a single algorithm.
Generative-art NFTs ship an algorithm, not just an image. At mint, a deterministic function takes a seed (usually derived from the transaction hash) and produces the artwork. Different seeds, same algorithm, infinitely varied outputs.
Art Blocks pioneered the on-chain generative model in 2020 and remains the most-cited venue, with curated series from artists like Tyler Hobbs (Fidenza), Dmitri Cherniak (Ringers), and Snowfro (Chromie Squiggle). The model produces art whose provenance and construction are both fully verifiable.
