Kaspa
A proof-of-work Layer-1 using the GHOSTDAG consensus protocol — generates blocks every second by allowing parallel blocks rather than serializing them into a single chain.
Kaspa launched mainnet in November 2021 with no premine and no ICO. Its consensus protocol — GHOSTDAG — accepts multiple parallel blocks per second rather than enforcing strict linear ordering, producing a blockDAG instead of a blockchain.
The model lets Kaspa achieve sub-second block times while maintaining proof-of-work security. Smart contract support (via the planned Crescendo upgrade and KasPay) has been on the roadmap. KAS is the native token, fully emitted via GPU mining on a Bitcoin-style halving schedule.
