LayerZero

An omnichain interoperability protocol where applications send messages between chains through user-configurable Oracle and Relayer roles.

LayerZero implements cross-chain messaging via a configurable two-party system: an Oracle delivers source-chain block headers to the destination chain, and a Relayer delivers the message and its inclusion proof. As long as those two parties are independent, fraud requires both colluding.

Applications can plug in their own Oracle/Relayer pair, including self-managed ones, which lets each app pick its trust model. Stargate (LayerZero's flagship asset bridge) and many omnichain tokens (e.g. USDT0, dozens of OFTs) use LayerZero as their transport.
