Multisig
A wallet or contract that requires signatures from M of N parties before executing a transaction. Standard for DAO treasuries and high-value vaults.
A 3-of-5 multisig requires three out of five designated signers to authorize each transaction. The most common implementation is Safe (formerly Gnosis Safe): a smart-contract wallet that holds funds and verifies signatures from its owners on-chain.
Multisigs defeat single-key compromise and force collusion to move funds, which is why nearly every serious DAO treasury and protocol admin role sits behind one. The choice of M, N, and the identities of the signers is itself a security and governance decision.
