Shitcoin
A pejorative for low-quality cryptocurrencies — typically used for tokens with no real utility, opaque teams, dump-prone tokenomics, or pure pump-and-dump dynamics.
"Shitcoin" is the catch-all dismissive label for low-quality cryptocurrencies. The exact threshold is subjective — Bitcoin maximalists use it for everything except BTC; others reserve it for tokens with no team transparency, no working product, or overtly extractive tokenomics.
The term overlaps with "memecoin" (purely meme-driven) but implies a stronger negative judgment. "Shitcoin season" is the informal name for periods when low-cap, low-quality tokens outperform majors — usually late-cycle.
