Theta Network
A blockchain network purpose-built for video streaming and edge-compute — viewers earn TFUEL by relaying video content to other users on the network.
Theta Network launched in 2019 as a decentralized video-streaming infrastructure. Users who run Theta Edge Nodes contribute bandwidth and compute to relay video content, earning TFUEL tokens in return. The model targets reducing CDN costs and improving last-mile video delivery.
THETA is the governance and staking token; TFUEL is the operational token consumed for network usage. Real-world deployments have included Theta Drop NFT marketplace, partnerships with Samsung, World Poker Tour, and various streaming pilots.
