Trezor
The first commercially produced hardware wallet, by SatoshiLabs (Czech Republic, 2014) — fully open-source firmware and circuitry.
Trezor launched the One in 2014, making it the first hardware wallet to ship at scale. SatoshiLabs has kept both firmware and hardware schematics fully open-source, an unusual position in a category that tends toward closed secure elements.
Current devices (Trezor Safe 3, Safe 5) added a secure element to the long-standing general-purpose MCU design. Trezor Suite is the desktop and web companion app for portfolio management and transaction signing.
