Worldcoin's OP Stack Layer-2 — designed around proof-of-personhood verification, giving World ID-verified humans free transactions and priority blockspace.
World Chain launched in late 2024 as an OP Stack rollup built specifically to integrate Worldcoin's proof-of-personhood. World ID holders get a free-transaction allowance and priority access to blockspace, distinguishing verified humans from bots and Sybil accounts at the protocol level.
The chain is part of the broader Optimism Superchain and inherits that ecosystem's interoperability. World Chain's launch was paired with the broader "World App" wallet rollout and the WLD token restructuring.
